Restoring the Kingship of Christ in Great Britain

The announcements of the French government’s intention to dissolve the Civitas party have justly concerned friends of the cause of Christianity and nations, as well as defenders of public liberties.

We will first observe that it is vain to pretend to dissolve Civitas. In fact, the Catholic party Civitas is the expression of a school which is based on the social doctrine of the Church and the law of nations. These ideas are beyond the reach of circumstantial measures. And they will be maintained independently of temporary structures.

Moreover, Civitas is a movement that goes beyond the French framework. Current events require us to translate more quickly than expected for the emergence that we have seen in recent years of “Civitas international”.

In fact, there are Civitas associations or groups in various countries like Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the United Kingdom and even Mexico and Lebanon. Others are in the process of being formed, such as in Poland or the United States.

Consequently, the representatives of the various Civitas groups decided, during a general meeting held on September 11, 2023, to create a common structure, “Civitas international”, whose headquarters, which can be modified, is Brussels, with President Alain Escada. This structure will aim to coordinate the action of the Civitas groups in the various countries, to make the positions of the group known and to counteract unfair constraints posed by local politicians. The study of the creation of a European party is also envisaged.

For this first media appearance, Civitas International strongly condemns the repressive actions of the French government, and in particular of the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, who is trying to muzzle any national opposition to his policies. The various Civitas groups will join this protest to the French authorities, their diplomatic representatives, and international organisations. They will provide political support to the French grouping.
